I started GRIFBYTE after noticing how my family, like many others, would stash away old electronics—broken cables, dead batteries, outdated devices—into bins that just collected dust. It didn’t make sense to me why we were holding onto tech we clearly weren’t going to use again. When I looked into how to properly dispose of the unused, old, or even broken items, I realized that electronic recycling is unnecessarily complicated, with the local recycling center was only open for a few hours once a week, which might work for some people, but not for most people with busy schedules that would be very difficult to change. That’s when it hit me—rather than expecting people to work around inconvenient systems, why not bring the solution to them? GRIFBYTE was born from that simple idea: make responsible tech recycling easy, accessible, and part of everyday life.
